The most stable and cost-effective hardware and software components are used to ensure good performance. Often an improvement of the security as well as the optimization of the processes and costs are also appropriate and to be implemented.

Operating Systems

For 25 years we have been installing server systems with various Windows servers in company infrastructures. However, in recent years our tendency and recommendation has been to use Linux systems, due to better performance, speed, stability and ultimately security.

Unfortunately, from the point of view of the system administrators, Microsoft has lost its commitment to the customers in the last 5 years and produces more and more spyware instead of an operating system.

The world's fastest servers are Linux servers, which is another reason to reconsider the software issue.

Here are a few numbers:

• in 2019, 100% of all supercomputers ran on Linux,
• of the top 25 websites, only 2 do not use Linux,
• 96.3% of the world's top servers and
• 90% of all cloud infrastructures run on Linux.
• in 2020, Linux is used by 100% of the TOP 500 servers.

Networks

Since 1992 we recognized the worldwide importance of network technology, at that time Novell was the leader with NetWare.
Since 1995 we have been continually installing network solutions.

Meanwhile, the technology has shifted to a better and simplified topology with more performance. However, the OSI model still applies.

Networks, internal and external, have become a playground for shadow existences that try to place their Trojans, viruses, ransomware, and spyware into systems.
The solution is very rarely a better virus scanner from a relevant producer, but the choice of a different network structure, the closing of ports, a better, more secure operating system, as well as monitoring and implementation by qualified personnel.

We need to be absolutely clear that a Windows Server 2019 Standard cannot withstand a targeted hacker attack. Any anti-virus software manufacturer that claims this is simply overstating.

We find simpler, more cost-effective, and better ways to achieve this and to ward off such an attack on a large scale, or to reduce the impact and thus prevent the intrusion into the system.

Administration

We look back on many years in the administration of computers, servers, and networks of medium-sized companies, banks, doctors, and smaller companies. In each case we were able to meet the requirements and implement the desired solutions. Emerging problems were solved quickly and professionally.

Absolute discretion and protection of sensitive data is our top priority.
Consequently, we do not maintain any ties with those large corporations and organizations that are known to covertly exploit your data.

Hardware

Server hardware and software can be inexpensive or extremely costly. It depends on the specific system requirements.

For a company with 5 single workstations and a server this is within limits. However, if we go a few steps higher into the segment with e.g., 1000 employees and several branches worldwide, the costs and considerations are vastly different.
But here is exactly the point where money can be saved, with a clever implementation and utilization of resources and network components.
